Welcome to A.I. Lab
Dr. Jure Žabkar is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has 20 years of experience in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and data science. He conducts research in machine learning and data mining, qualitative reasoning, cognitive robotics, and systems for decision support, with applications in robotics and healthcare. He participated in several EU FP7 and H2020 projects (ASPIC, XMEDIA, XPERO, QUIERO) as well as several national research and industrial projects. Currently, he is the local PI in project DRIFT (ARIS L2-4436), addressing the network control and optimization policies in low voltage distribution networks based on deep reinforcement learning. He participated in the development of the ParkinsonCheck application for the early detection of signs of Parkinsonian or Essential Tremor. In collaboration with clinical doctors from the Department of Neurology at the University Clinical Centre Ljubljana, he continues to supervise students in their research work and development of computer-aided diagnostic tests for Parkinson’s disease and Schizophrenia. He coordinated two national student projects related to screening for Dyslexia (ŠIPK “Izdelava računalniškega sistema za prepoznavanje disleksije in pomoč dislektikom”, and PKP #11081-11/2019); the teams have developed two computer-aided tests using the eye-tracker.
