Yesterday, the first European Summer School on Artificial Intelligence, ESSAI and ACAI, began at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, where 60 top lecturers will pass on their knowledge to over 500 participants from 42 countries.
The event, hosted by the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Society (SLAIS) in collaboration with the University of Ljubljana, the “Jožef Stefan” Institute, and the University of Primorska, is not only an excellent opportunity for discussions on artificial intelligence, its advantages, and challenges, but also for trengthening the Slovenian research community, which is already at the forefront of AI research.

At yesterday’s opening ceremony, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the summer school as a forum for addressing numerous issues related to AI development. The keynote speaker, Dr. Jure Leskovec, a Slovenian computer scientist and entrepreneur who is an associate professor at Stanford University and head of research at Pinterest, also spoke to the attendees.

The summer school will continue until Friday, July 28. During this time, participants can look forward to 36 different courses, lectures, and two panel discussions: one titled “Artificial Intelligence for Science” and the other “Artificial Intelligence for Society.”
